At
The Rescue Mission, the health and happiness of every kitten and puppy in our care are our top priorities. That’s why we provide comprehensive health support and guidance to ensure every adoption starts on the right paw.
All kittens and puppies adopted from The Rescue Mission receive:
In the rare event that a serious hereditary or congenital condition is discovered, we will work closely with you to provide support, replacement, or veterinary assistance as appropriate.
If a rescued kitten or puppy develops a health issue after adoption, we will provide advice, guidance, and, where feasible, financial support toward treatment costs. Our goal is to support both the animal and the adopter through unexpected challenges.
In the heartbreaking event that a rescued kitten or puppy passes away due to a serious health condition shortly after adoption, we will provide assistance in finding another compatible animal for your family whenever possible.
If minor but treatable health issues are discovered during a veterinary exam shortly after adoption, we will provide reimbursement for those treatments, provided the exam is conducted by a licensed veterinarian.
Note: Routine care (vaccinations, deworming, flea prevention, and wellness exams) remains the adopter’s responsibility. We strongly encourage a prompt veterinary visit after adoption to ensure the best possible start for your new companion.
All rescued kittens and puppies come up-to-date on:
We provide a complete vaccination and health record for your veterinarian and offer ongoing guidance for preventive care, enrichment, and overall wellness.
Whether your new companion is traveling nearby or across the country, we ensure every kitten and puppy’s journey is safe, secure, and as stress-free as possible. We partner with trusted animal transport professionals who prioritize comfort, safety, and care. Most animals arrive curious, relaxed, and ready to explore their new home immediately.
If a serious hereditary or congenital condition is diagnosed after adoption (confirmed by a licensed veterinarian), The Rescue Mission will:
While we take every precaution to support animal health, some challenges may arise. We recommend enrolling in pet insurance, such as Trupanion, which can cover many hereditary or unexpected conditions and provide peace of mind for your family.
